Master Metalsmith Sarah Perkins

Sarah Perkins is a metalsmith best known for her hand-formed, enameled metal vessels and containers, with a studio career spanning more than three decades. In 2019, the Metal Museum in Memphis named her its Master Metalsmith, an honor that came with a solo exhibition running from fall 2019 into March 2020. I designed the exhibition catalog, a square book that pairs her vessels with essays and process notes, along with the title and quote graphics in the gallery. It was my first project with Sarah and the Metal Museum, and it led to our later work together on the Bill Helwig book.
