Stars of the Lid

Stars of the Lid was the ambient drone duo formed in Austin, Texas, in 1992 by Adam Wiltzie and Brian McBride, known for slow, beatless records built from guitar, electronics, strings, and horns. On April 22, 2008, Krannert Center and the Pygmalion Festival presented them at the Staerkel Planetarium at Parkland College in Champaign. I designed an 8.5" x 11" screenprint for that show: an arched, mustard-and-brown composition with the date set in a record-like circle and a lone figure on a scooter riding the horizon.
